In 1915 Lawrence and Sarah Brown took over the license of The Crown

Lawrence died in 1924

Sarah Brown, now licensee, brought up the children. Her mother, Mrs. Ellen Janes moved in to live with them and help her. ( George & Ellen Janes)

Sarah remained at the Crown for 57 years.
