	Over the last few months we have all been aware of other conflicts raging across the world. Wars leave heavy burdens of loss and horror, leaving devastation in their wake, and achieving nothing. By standing alongside our brave Ukrainian refugees and helping them to find safety and build a life in the UK, we are standing in defiance of all wars and the perpetrators of them. 		+	1. Make the dough: In a small bowl, mix warm water, salt and oil. In a separate large bowl, place flour, make a well in the middle, then pour the wet mixture into the well. Mix until smooth dough is formed.

 The Kop Hill climb offered a great opportunity for several of the ladies to sell Ukrainian street food to the crowds. We also had hand painted ceramic sunflowers for sale and a selection of soft furnishings, all produced by our talented guests. We will also host stands at the Princes Risborough Farmers markets and the Christmas Lights event in November, please do come and say hi!

Many returned to see family in Ukraine over the summer, returning with terrible stories of cities devastated, families decimated and life as they knew it destroyed.  The charity has had a very busy summer. Thanks to incredibly generous support we have been able to provide 2 weeks of SuperCamp fun at the Beacon School in Amersham, for 30 of our Ukrainian children aged between 5 and 12. We have had a fabulous fun family day at Wendover Woods, sponsored by the Mothers Union, and a wonderful day trip to Cliveden, organised by Janet Volk and Sarah Halliday.

This situation is difficult for all concerned and is almost always the result of a change in circumstance for one of the parties involved. The benefits are clear; a re-matched sponsor does not have the headache of registering and creating bank accounts with their guests, as this has already been done. The guest already has a social network locally and in most cases an income. The children are settled within school and their language acquisition is vastly improved from their arrival.
