 '''1958 From the Bucks Free Press.'''  The 81s Club was the name chosen by Loosley Row, Lacey Green and district Darby and Joan Club at its first general meeting on Tuesday.  The meeting was held in Lacey Green Village Hall and the chairman was the wife of the Member of Parliament for the Wycombe Division, Mrs John Hall. The club is the 81st to be formed in Buckinghamshire.

 '''From the Bucks Free Press.'''  83 members of the 81st Club were taken by coach for an outing on saturday as part of the club's 6th birthday celebrations.  They were given tea at Royal Hotel. Stratford-upon-Avon, when a beautifully iced birthday cake weighing 14 lbs, made by committee member Mrs M Rixon was cut by one of the oldest member Mrs A Dormer who is 87.  A vote of thanks to all helpers and the committee was moved by Mr Fred Harling and the chairman, Mrs F Rutland, was presented with a big box of chocolates by Mrs M Probert, the club secretary, from the committee and a pot plant from Mrs A Gomme on behalf of the members.  Mr Harling also thanked Mrs Probert for her help and presented her with a pot plant.

		+	'''26th July 1963. Newspaper report.''' The Lacey Green 81st Club members were given a party in the lovely garden of 'Gracefield' by Mr and Mrs H Jourdon on Saturday. About 90 members and helpers enjoyed a lovely summer treat of sunhine and strawberries and cream. During the afternoon 26 children from the village school did dances under the direction of Mr Anthony and Miss Stanner. The children were thanked by Mr Jourdon for giving up their Saturday afternoon and given sweets and refreshments. Highlight of the afternoon was when T.V. star Mr Roy Castle arrived with Mr and Mrs Dickson and their daughter Fiona who is marrying Mr Castle shortly. An ankle competiton caused much laughter. The judges were Mr Roy Castle, Lt Cdr Brownrigg and the Reverend Houghton. Winners were Mrs G Stallwood and Mrs L Janes. The hidden treasure was won by Mrs F Plumridge. A bring and buy stall raised £4 which was given to St Agatha's Home for Children. Among the gusrs at the party were Lt Cdr and Mrs Brownrigg, Major Abrahams, Mrs Clogg, Mr and Mrs J Chance, Reverend and Mrs Houghton, and other friends of the club. Mr and Mrs Jourdon were thanked by Mrs F Rutland, chairman of the club, who presented Mrs Jourdon with flowers and Mr Jourdon with cigars.
