William Ridgley & Maria, Charlotte & Eliza

William Ridgley born 1848 or thereabouts was married three times and acquired three stepchildren. He was born in Bledlow Ridge, worked on Chorley Farm, West Wycombe, then at Pound Farm, Saunderton Lea, where the children were raised.
The boys lost in WW1 are on the memorial in Loosley Row Baptist Chapel.
October 1869. William married Maria Stevens, daughter of Thomas and Mary of Bledlow Ridge. Maria died in 1876
February 1877. William married Charlotte Barlow, born in North End, Bucks. Their son William Albert was born in 1879. Charlotte died in 1883.
September 1887. William married Eliza Newell, daughter of John and Rebecca of Bledlow Ridge.
Widow. Eliza Newell was a widow when she married William. Her former husband Jesse Williams from Bledlow Ridge had died in 1881, leaving Eliza with three children. Eliza died in1940.
Total Children as follows :-
Frederick Williams (step son) born 1874 in Bledlow Ridge married Ellen Elkins of West Wycombe in 1895. They lived in Lane End. Frederick died in 1934 in Chair Makers Row, High Wycombe.
Ada Williams (step daughter) born 1878 in Bledlow Ridge, Buckinghamshire. In 1901 Ada was 23, employed as a housekeeper.
William Albert Ridgley born in 1879, son of 2nd marriage to Charlotte Barlow, married Ada Clara Beal in 1901. In 1911 they were living in Durhams Lane, Loudwater, High Wycombe. He was working in a paper mill. He died 1914
George Williams (step son) born 25th August 1881. In the 1939 he is recorded as a widower living at 94 Abercrombie Avenue, High Wycombe as a general labourer aged 58.
Alfred Ridgley. Died 7th May 1915 WW1 aged 27. He was a private in the King's Shropshire Light Infantry, 2nd Battalion.

Ellen Ridgley was born 1891 at Chorley Farm West Wycombe. Married John M Wise in 1918. Ellen died in Beaconsfield.
Frank Ridgley was born 9th June 1892 at Chorley Farm West Wycombe. In 1913 Frank married Ellen Eggleton, daughter of John and Ann Eggleton of Lacey Green. In 1939 Frank and Ellen are living in Station Road,. Bullingdon, Oxfordshire. Frank is a master barber. Frank died 9th June 1981 (88)
Percy Ridgley Died 22nd April 1917 WW1 aged 21. He was a private in the Ox and Bucks. Light Infantry, 21st Battalion.
Buried in St. Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen. Grace O.IX.E.9

Herbert Ridgley was born in 1899. He enlisted for WW1 on 2nd March 1916. He was discharged 3rd March 1919. In the 1939 Register Herbert was living at 1 Gillet Lane, High Wycombe with his wife Mary. He is listed as a builder's labourer. Herbert died in March 1994 aged 96.
