Report by Trevor Stevens, great grandson of Isaac Ernest & Lily Lacey. In 1930 Isaac Lacey from Lacey Green was cycling home from work when he was hit by a motorbike ridden by Bill Redrup, also a local man, near the railway bridge at Pictonville.    Isaac died from his injuries.

A court case was held and Bill Redrup was sentenced to 6 months in jail.    However, the widow Lily Lacey, said that she did not want Bill Redrup to go to jail.   He would have to live with the knowledge of what he had done for the rest of his life.  That would be punishment enough.   So Mr Redrup did not go to jail
