Philip & Mary Rhodes
From Lacey Green History
Philip Rhodes bought Floyds Barn, later calling it Floyds Farm Cottage
Hallmark February 1987. Letter to the Editor from Philip H Rhodes, Floyds Farm Cottage.
Dear Sir
During the past few months I have become increasingly concerned about the untidy appearance of the village.
Living, as we do, in such a beautiful part of the country it is a tragedy to allow the village to be spoilt by the large amonts of litter and rubbish which have been discarded on the verges, in the hedges and at the bus stops.
Is there nothing that our local organisations and elected representatives can do to alleviate these eyesores?
May I suggest that they launch a campaign to 'Keep Lacey Green Tidy' and that a blitz is organized to clean up all this discarded litter and rubbish. After all, Village Day is not far away, nor is the visit of our friends from Hambye.
I would willingly give of my time to such a worthwhile cause.
Hallmark December 1989. Goodbye - to Philip and Mary Rhodes, all the best in their new life in Devon.
