Percy Oliver Wood

Percy Oliver Wood was the son of Frank Eustace Wood and Susannah Eleanor, nee Swan, widow of Wheal.

Frank and Susannah married in 1891.

In the 1891 census Susannah Wheal widow, a laundress and charwoman, was living at no 49 Hanging Hill Lane, Hutton, Brentwood, Essex. Living with her were Olivia Wheal 11, Eleanor Wheal 10, Emily Wheal 8, Susannah Swan 76, her mother, a pauper, and a lodger Frank Eustace Wood aged 26, an agricultural hay binder, born at Ingrove.

In the 1901 census they are living at 106 Hanging Hill Lane. Frank, 35, in charge of an electric light plant & handyman, Susannah 46 and three children ---

Ada Wood born 1892, Owen Wood born 1894 and Percy Oliver born 1895.

Percy Oliver Wood died 3rd July 1916 aged 21 WW1. He was a private in the 9th Battalion Essex Regiment, South Wales Borderers. He served in France and Gallipoli.
