Mike & Pat Richards
From Lacey Green History
Mike & Pat Richards moved to Hets Orchard
in 1991 an item in Hallmark was a report by Clem Brown of a meeting he had with Mike Richards -
"I must confess I don't like flying. At such times one reflects on safety in the air. Much of the responsibility is taken by the air traffic controllers, and it happens that we have one in our midst. He is Mike Richards, of Main Road Lacey Green, who has lived here for ten years and 30 years experience of flying business. The Civil Aviation Authority controls people like Mike, who work shifts under legally binding restrictions. He id a chief sector controller at the West Drayton centre where they monitor the air ways over England and Wales, and he specialises in an East-to-West band across London and the South.
Both Mike and his wife Pat are well involved in local activities, and Mike became chairman of the Village Hall Committee recently. Mike has a special skill, for he makes furniture as a hobby, and I admired his work. (This item has been edited to omit Clem's personal comments)
Mike Richards was the Chairman of the Village Hall Committee from 1991 to 1994
Hallmark 1995. Village Hall AGM. Report by Chairman Tony Smart (click Tony & Pat Smart). Thanks to Mike Richards for all the work he has put into the Village Hall as chairman for the last 4 years. Mike has agreed to continue to help us with organising the refurbishment of the front of the hall.
