John & Frankie Plowman
From Lacey Green History
John and Frankie Plowman bought Lane Farm in 1971. The land was rented by R M West & Son.
John Plowman was a member of the Village Hall Committee in 1980 and 1981.
When they left in 1984 the editor of Hallmark wrote "In this issue we say goodbye to a number of Village Hall friends, people who defied the old belief that it takes 20 years to be accepted in a village, by their hard work and willingness, in a short space of time they became part of the community and will be sorely missed.
John and Frankie Plowman not only worked for various organisations but constantly opened their lovely garden to all and sundry, for garden parties, fetes and band concerts.
John served on the Village Hall committee for a few years, but he will be remembered for his great effort in getting The Horticultural Society established. Frankie worked tirelessly for The 81st Club and will be difficult to replace, she was also a member of the twinning committee in its early days.
To these friends we send sincere thanks for all they have done for the village, and wish them all the very best in their move for retirement, and as they are not moving too great a distance, we hope to see them from time to time.
