Frances was a physiotherapist. She trained and worked at High Wycombe. There she became friends with Val Jourdan, also a physiotherapist, a friendship that lasted all her life. click Martin & Val Jourdan for more about Val.

Frances went many times to Palestine working for the charity ABCD, which was founded by Val Jourdan, for which she was awarded MBE, treating disabled children and helping unmarried mothers and their families.

in 2025 Val Jourdan wrote of Frances in a letter to me -

" Frances was a dear friend and fellow physio who helped me set up the charity - which has gone from strength to strenth over the past 40 years - much of the early work was due to Frances' expertise.


John and Francis loved sailing. During the years 2000 to 2005 they had a boat on the canals of France where they spent many trips.
