Jabez Claydon born 1838 was the son of John & Ann Claydon

Annie Smith born 1840 was the daughter of George & Suzannah Smith of Holborn, Middlesex. Annie went to boarding school. She left at 16 and tried to run away to Australia but was found out and brought back. She went as housemaid to the Reverend Burgess and Mrs Burgess at Lacey Green and became nurse to their son Cecil. She had a premonition of her mother's death and prepared to go to London before the letter arrived bearing the news.

Jabez and Annie were married in 1867. (Jabez was a gardener and Annie was a servant at the Vicarage)

They lived at Malmsmead, Kiln Lane, Lacey Green

Jabez and Annie had 3 children as follows :-

Catherine Mary (Kate) Claydon born 1868 married Owen Ernest Biggs (builder) in 1895. Click Owen & Kate Biggs for their life story

Susannah Eliza (Leila) Claydon born 1872 married William Bignall in 1903. click William & Leila Bignall for more.

Elizabeth Ann Claydon born 1876 married Albert Thomas Phillips in 1908. In 1901 Albert headmaster Lacey Green School. In 1911 Albert headmaster Naphill School.
