Hampden Estate Woodlands

Research by Joan West. (These covenants applied to the 5 acres of woodland purchased by Andrew & Ann Noel Clark of Chipko. The documents were amongst the Deeds for Chipko, copies of which are archived n Lacey Green Village Hall).
These Woodlands were part of the Hamden Estates.
January 15th 1962. Deed of Covenant
between The Forestry Commissioners and The Right Honourable John Hampden Hobart-Hampden Eighth Earl of Buckinghamshire.
relating to the management and development of 1, 468 acres of land in the Parishes of Great and Little Hampden, Ellesborough, Great and Little Kimble, Monks Risborough and Princes Risborough for the growing of timber.
April 17th 1963. Deed of Covenant
Additional land was added to the above.

By adhering to the rules of the Forestry Commission certain grants were available towards the maintenance and development of this woodland.
