Research by Joan West
Built by John Forrest and named after his son.
Given to Ethel Saunders by her father William. See William Saunders & Bethia Janes.
They were a semi detached pair of houses on Main Road, Lacey Green. The front doors were on either side.

When the owner of Graham Cottages realised that she was living on the shady north side of the two she moved into the south side and from then on the Police House was on the north side of the two. There followed a succession of Police Constables, Cox, Matthews, Harris, Farr and Drage.
In the 1939 Register (census) they are recorded as occupied by
no 2, Sidney C Farr born 1911, police constable and his wife Kathleen m Farr born 1911. 2 are absent WW2.
no 1, Dorothy E M Commist born 1909 married with 5 absent WW2.
