We are grateful for the support from our residents and for reaching out to us for advice and solutions to problems and concerns.

We continue to encourage community groups to participate in the North West Chilterns Community Board and take advantage of the available funds to carry out projects.

Pension Credit Surgeries

The Council predicts that up to 5,000 Buckinghamshire pensioners who are eligible for Pension Credit are not claiming and could therefore be missing out on benefits of up to £3,900 per year. To help residents who may be struggling with their applications, the Council are holding Pension Credit Surgeries in venues across the county. These will run until Friday 20 December which is the deadline for applying.

There is no need to book an appointment to get support. Residents simply need to bring their National Insurance number, information about any income, savings and investments they have and their bank account details. If applicable, they will also need their partners information.

The closest location to Lacey Green hosting these surgeries is Princes Risborough Library (10:15am to 12pm):

Thursdays 14, 21, 28 November, 5. 12, 19 December.

Be Flood Ready

In October, the new Buckinghamshire Be Flood Ready website launched, providing lots of information on how residents can make their homes more flood resilient, prepare a flood plan, find out what to do after a flood, get advice on insurance and who to contact.

Whilst the forecast is currently dry, more heavy rainfall is anticipated over winter, and the Council are encouraging residents to prepare now.

The Council recommends that residents: • Check if the area they live in is at risk of flooding • Sign up for flood warnings • Check what to do during a flood.

It is a property owner’s responsibility to take appropriate action to protect their own property from flooding, and to look after their property if it does flood.

Please remember that the Council have a limited stock of sandbags intended for use on highways and during times of emergency and will try to assist residents by delivering these to properties at imminent risk of flooding, but this depends on the availability of crews to transport them.
