Barbara Edwards came to Lacey Green to live with her daughter and son-in-law Michael & ? Lane in Hets Orchard.

Barbara wrote the report on behalf of The Womens Institute for Hallmark on four occasions in the 1980s.

This successful day owed much to the workers behind the scenes and I would like to express my thanks and appreciation for their constant help throughout the day:– to Norman Russell and his daughter Susie, to Mary Smith especially, to Connie Baker and Eve Smith. To Joyce Wilmot, Pat Lord and Ailsa Maynard for their exhibitions of Laces and Tatting and to Doris and Rosemary Oliver who assisted. To Sonia Nuttall who provided the schedules and to Mary Hickman for her generous donations towards the purchase of Raffle Prizes and to Mr. Salmon who made a beautiful iced cake, in the shape of a Lace Pillow, complete with Honiton Bobbins, which was so much admired and enjoyed by the lucky winner. Ailsa Maynard's Tatting was much admired and a source of much inspiration for "lapsed" and "would be" Tatters. Thank you all for helping to make it such a happy day for everyone. The hundred lace makers who came from as far as Bristol, and London, Woking, Hampshire – Berkshire – Beds, Oxford and from every part of Bucks, as well as the dealers, contributed generously and as a result £115.00 was donated to Lacey Green Church Fabric Fund and a donation was made to Loosley Row and Lacey Green Village Hall Diamond Jubilee Fund and to B.F.W.I towards the cost of new Carol Books.
