Arthur, known as 'Toey' Lacey born 1883 was the son of William & Emma Lacey of Hughenden Valley
Louisa Read was born in 1883 in Snape, Suffolk.
Arthur and Louisa married in 1906 in Acton

1934 -1950 At some time during these years, Arthur Lacey (Toey) opened a small grocery, at ‘The Crooked Chimney’, just up the road from Hickmans Stores. His wife ran the shop. It didn’t stock much, mainly sweets and tobacco. However Toey did cook fish and chips, to order, on Fridays, in a shed at the back. Their children delivered the orders.

About 1948 Arthur, known as 'Toey' Lacey bought Rose Villa when it was put up for auction. He lived there for a while. It was not in a good state with no mains water etc.
