Ant’s Dairy

Hallmark February 2024. Report by Jonathon Hilder from the Naphill Gazette

In April last year we all thought our local areas would lose their house-to-house milk deliveries, as Wren Davis ceased trading. From the ashes of this business rose a milkman Antony Cramp. In the space of a week, he went from a roundsman with Wren Davis to owning 3 milk floats and an embryonic milk delivery business.

Some 8 months on we caught up with Antony to see how this local business is developing.

Anthony has some great community values that are important to him and our community. This service, like our postmen, helps as our eyes and ears on those in the community who may need help:

– by offering a service to help the elderly and being happy to spend time talking to clients.

– by increasing their products to ensure they can deliver what people need and want.

– by reducing the food miles of what they buy by working with local suppliers such as:

Darvells

Tims Dairy

Local honey

Bishops Coffee from

Hazlemere

Local eggs

Cheese

– by bringing back Wren Davies employees into work.

The business has grown to 6 floats with 4 full time employees and Antony will be looking for a 5th shortly. They now deliver 10,000 per week and would love to deliver more in our area. Milk is now delivered directly to them, and they have their own fridge and have even had to buy a forklift to unload the lorries.

They are happy to bill you monthly and take Internet Banking. They do not use standing orders or direct debits..

Antony admits he has exceeded his own expectations in creating a local business that is dedicated to helping the community by bring products directly to the doors to those that need it.

It's great to see people succeed and help keep services in our community that all too often we are losing. We wish Antony every success in the future.
