The 81st Club was founded in 1958 by Mrs Isdell-Carpenter, Mrs Frances Rutland and Mrs Ferris. It would normally have been called a 'Derby & Joan', but it was decided to call it the 81st Club because it was the 81st in the county.
Mrs Rutland became the first chairman, a position she still held in 1975.
September 1979 AGM. Mrs Harrington President. Mrs Sanders Chairman, Mrs Plowman Secretary, Mrs Tyler Treasurer.
Mrs Harris, Mrs Langston, Payley and Spears.
Mrs Brown representing Speen. Mrs Dell for Hampden. Mrs Probert for Loosley Row. Mrs Williams for Lacey Green.
September 1981 AGM. Mrs Harrington - President; Mrs Sanders - Chairman; Mrs Plowman - Secretary; Mrs B Tyler - Treasurer.
Mrs Spurry, Mrs Harris, Mrs Paley, Mrs Spear, Mrs Probert, Mrs Lennard, Mrs Barber, Mrs B Dell, Mrs Langston, Mrs M Brown.
September 1982 AGM. The Committee was elected as last year. Except Mr Seymour is in place of Mrs M Brown who has retired.
September 1985 AGM. 81st CLUB (Darby & Joan)
Mrs Harrington and Mrs Harris wished to stand down from the Committee. They were thanked for the Service they had given to the Club and both were presented with a fine piece of lace in a frame.
The committee thought the Club should have a Vice Chairman and Harold Seymour was elected. Mrs. Spurry takes over as President from Mrs Harrington and Mrs. Tempest takes the place of Mrs, Harris.
