This parish is covered by a network of footpaths and these were well utilised in "Beating the Bounds" on 13th May. Probably the first time this has been done in the 55 years life of this civil parish.

Councillors were delighted to be joined by over 90 people in tracing the perimeter of our 2,592 acre parish. The party included one Hambe visitor, after very little sleep, a good crowd of children and five quarrelsome bitches who joined 5 councillors (out of 7, one is unwell and one drove the 'chuck wagon').

A lovely spring day with the Chiltern countryside looking its best, made even more enjoyable the "discovery" of "new" vistas and paths in the parish.

The Parish Council would like to thank local landowners and Speen Baptist Church for their kind co-operation in allowing the walkers to cross private land. Many thanks too to all those who took part - it's a must for next year. click 1934 The Parish Council for more

The Route

Starting from the Village Hall, at 10 am, the route will be via public footpaths and public highways, so stout footwear is advisable. Please bring a packed lunch.

The whole circuit, approximately ten miles, will be taken at a leisurely pace, but please feel free to join or leave the walk as you wish. For those who would like to take advantage of walking only a short section brief details of the anticipated route are given.

The party will proceed to Loosley Row to join the western boundary, progressing to the northern boundary on the outskirts of Princes Risborough, then continuing by the eastern boundary to Parslows Hillock. (A short section of the latter involves a rather steep climb). Lunch will be taken in the Parslows Hillock area. After lunch the remaining part of the eastern boundary will be followed to Speen, via Monkton Wood and Coleheath Bottom. From Speen the southern boundary, via Walters Ash and Smalldean Lane, to Loosley Row, returning thence to Lacey Green..
