Distractions from school

June 18^th. Took registers at 1–35, in order to allow ten children to leave at 3-35 to take part in a play at Monks Risborough.  

uly 3^rd. A half-holiday was given in the afternoon in honour of the centenary of the consecration of the church, as “Lacey Green Chapel of Ease”.  

July 29^th. Half –holiday given in honour of Miss Carter’s wedding.  

September 29^th. The school was closed today to allow 36 of the older children to visit Wembley Exhibition

Requisites

January 12^th. The stove is now in use and appears to be very satisfactory.   The temperature is raised considerable, enabling the work to be carried on in the cold weather under improved conditions.

Notes.

September 30^th. Received a letter from the Education Secretary stating that the notice to terminate the tenancy of the school garden expires today and asking for the tools to be sent by rail to Aylesbury from Saunderton station.  

October 2^nd.  Forwarded the following gardening tools to Aylesbury today: -   6 Dutch hoes, 8 rakes, 10 draw hoes, 11 spades, 10 forks.
